Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist III to join our team at a fast-paced medical site. The primary role involves performing various phlebotomy tasks while troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. The successful candidate will have experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and maintaining patient records.

Responsibilities

Perform blood draws and specimen collection with precision and care.

Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously to patients.

Use straight needles and butterfly needles proficiently.

Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately.

Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as per test orders.

Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels match the script for accuracy.

Package specimens for transport while maintaining integrity.

Store specimen samples at required temperatures and follow protocol for transport.

Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.

Attend annual department trainings to stay updated.

Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results as needed.

Essential Skills

At least 2-3 years of recent phlebotomy experience.

Proficiency in phlebotomy, blood draws, and venipuncture.

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience working with all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric.

Customer service experience.

Ability to handle 30+ patient draws per day.

Phlebotomy certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with straight needles and specimen collection.

CPT and specimen processing knowledge.

Positive personality and good interpersonal skills.

Commitment to long-term employment.

Work Environment

The role is based in Suwanee - Sugarloaf Medical, PC Internal Medicine Primary Care, a family practice account serving adults. The site operates Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and involves working with a team of three in a fast-paced environment. This contract-to-hire position aims to cover FMLA leave and requires handling 20-30+ patient draws per day. Candidates with experience in high-volume settings will thrive here. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suwanee, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 / hr.
