About The Position

Pharmacy Technician – Night Shift | Lancaster, TX

Millbrook Support Services is seeking a skilled and dedicated  Non-Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our night shift team in Lancaster, TX.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares and dispenses medications, and maintains related records for patients
  • Prepares, packages, labels, and distributes medication doses prescribed by physician
  • Maintains inventories of drugs and supplies, stocking shelves, rotating stock, and checking expiration date of pharmaceuticals
  • Fills / stocks medications in various automated devices and storage locations
  • Operates various types of pharmacy automation, including, but not limited to, Autofill devices; Baker Cells; Kalish cells, A-frames; repackaging equipment; electronic scales
  • Read computer screens, use scanning equipment, select specific drugs / products required to fill an order by name, strength, and National Drug Code (NDC) number
  • Cleans cells and performs first level preventative maintenance which includes cleaning off lights, vacuuming, and making minor adjustments to equipment
  • Must be able to understand the precautions required when handling hazardous materials and hazardous waste
  • Must be able to follow SOP and procedures as required.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician tasks include those listed above as contracted Non-Certified Pharmacy Technicians, and include the following :
  • Manually fill any specialized prescriptions
  • Puck Exception area for QA duties.
  • Main line Exception for QA Duties.
  • Canister Verification Duties
  • Canister Replenishment Duties.

Certifications

  • Non-certified technicians must have 6 months of experience (unless otherwise authorized by the respective CMOP) in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting; or be a graduate of an Academic Technician Training Educational Program. Not all pharmacy technicians will be required to be certified or registered (unless required by State Guidelines); however, certification is highly encouraged as several processes and certain equipment will require certified technicians.
  • Technical & Clinical Skills

  • Strong understanding of pharmacy practices, medical terminology, and drug classifications .
  • Excellent computer literacy and data entry accuracy .
  • Proficiency with pharmacy systems , prescription processing , and documentation protocols .
  • Experience

  • Preferred : Minimum of 6 months of experience in a pharmacy environment (mail order, hospital, retail, or long-term care).
  • Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands to handle materials and operate pharmacy equipment.
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, production-oriented mail-order pharmacy .
  • Occasional lifting of boxes or materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Work is performed in a secure, climate-controlled pharmacy environment during night shift hours .
