Earn up to $17.00 - $21.00 per hour including tips!

  • Availability needed 11 : 00 - 4 : 00 PM & 4 : 00 PM - 8 : 30 PM shifts.

Our team members learn to work different stations such as : Cashier, Grill, Fryer, Sandwich Maker & Slicer (18 & older). We believe in cross training so people can have variety in the positions that they work. We are looking for fabulous people with a customer service / cashier background but also for amazing individuals with food preparation background as well.

Miller’s started in 1972 as a small sandwich shop in East Providence, RI and has been serving the most authentic hand crafted sandwiches for over 50 years! Our reputation is important to us - we believe in our family members, and have faith that they will deliver a VIP customer experience every time to our guests!

Job Title : Team Member

Department / Function : Store Operations

Location : Assigned to Specific Shop

Reports to (Title) : General or Assistant Manager

Essential

  • Demonstrates and reinforces Miller’s Famous Sandwiches cultural values of respect, integrity, leadership & team work.
  • Ability to discuss Miller’s history & menu items with others.
  • Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, sides, beverages, recipe items, etc.) efficiently per Miller’s recipe manual standards.
  • Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety of the shop.
  • Maintain personal hygiene standards, including wearing a clean Miller’s uniform.
  • Comply with established food safety requirements and practices.
  • Comply with shop security and safety standards.
  • Be speedy and accurate in fulfilling orders.
  • Handle raw and finished waste according to established procedures.
  • Deliver the perfect customer experience.
  • Communicate with customers, showing personality and sense or urgency.
  • Engage in friendly conversation with customers dining in - rotating among tables to check in and ask if they need anything?

    • Other Key Functions

  • Restock food line, chips, ice, and coolers.
  • Put away food deliveries from vendors
  • Work multiple stations (store opening / prep, cashier, fry, grill, sandwich dressing, slicer, bagger, etc.) as directed by Manager or Shift Leader
  • Prepare recipe items as needed.
  • If 18 or older, uses the automatic slicer to slice roast beef and other items as needed.
  • Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
  • Operate cash register : handle, balance and follow all cash handling procedures.
  • Effectively handle customer complaints / issues.
  • Takes delivery / catering / pickup orders over the phone.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Willingness to complete tasks that might be assigned to others during a shift.

    • PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to stand / walk a minimum of 6 hours.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 6 hours.
  • Be able to lift up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 60 pounds occasionally.
  • Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data.
  • Able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors (95%) and outdoors (5%).
  • Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music, customer and employee traffic.
  • Must be able to tolerate potential allergens : peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must be friendly and customer service-oriented.
  • Must have a “helping heart” mentality with your co-workers - never stand around doing nothing when you can help someone!
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess neat and clean hygiene.
  • Ability to handle a knife confidently.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work as a team-player.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate in English via verbal and written communication, such that an employee can perform his or her job responsibilities.
  • Must demonstrate leadership behaviors and values that align with Miller’s.
