Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,483 per week in Albany, NY

Description : The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients. Patients may present with respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications. Nurses must be competent in the care of medical and surgical populations. Advanced hemodynamics knowledge is required, including the use of pressor medications as per titration protocols. Experience with antihypertensive drips, sedative and Narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, central venous pressure monitoring, external ventricular drains, orthopedic traction, and infection prevention protocols is necessary. Experience with high flow nasal cannula, BiPap / Cpap, and oxygen dependent patients is also required. Nurses with large scale adult progressive care unit experience and community hospital ICU experience tend to perform well. The average patient load is three high acuity patients. Competency testing is required within 24 hours of hire.
