Primary Purpose
Assist teacher and / or staff in preparation and management of instructional intervention activities. Assist teacher in instruction preparation and management of classroom activities. Work under direct supervision of teacher and administrative / professional staff.
Qualifications
Education / Certifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Have met formal academic assessment associates degree two years of study or 48 hours at an institution of higher learning
- Paraprofessional Aide Certification required (can be obtained once employed)
Special Knowledge / Skills
Ability to organize and be detail orientedAbility to operate the computerAbility to provide instruction to individual or small groups of studentsPhysically and emotionally able to perform assigned tasksAbility to communicate and work with studentsAbility to maintain effective working relationshipsMust possess personal qualities related to respect for the rights and confidentiality of othersExperience :

Instructional Support
Deliver interventions to students only after initial instruction and to fill achievement gaps with identified students under the supervision of a teacher of record or team of teachers within the intervention model.Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher working with individual students or small groupsAssist in classroom managementAssist with parental involvement activities and parent communication as deemed appropriate by the supervisorHelp to maintain neat and orderly classroomHelp with inventory care and maintenance of equipmentHelp teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reportsStudent Management
Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual studentsHelp with student supervision before during and after school while they are loading and unloading buses on the playground in the cafeteria in a learning or practice environment inside and outside classroom following appropriate training throughout the school day.Professional Conduct
