GENERAL PURPOSE :

Orders stock items and oversees stockroom inventory, including receiving, stocking and shipping.

Responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of environmental health and safety programs to assure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and company policies under the direction of the Denver Service Operations Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Charges inventory through material transfer sheets; scans and inputs labels into computer program
  • Quotes, sets up, assigns and loads freight shipment, including issuing and setting up a purchase order number and contacting the carrier for pick up
  • Orders stock items, assigns purchase orders and contacts the vendors to place the order
  • Inputs items received into computer and scans purchase orders
  • Implements, and manages programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses.
  • Coordinates safety activities, through subordinate supervisory personnel, to ensure implementation of safety activities throughout organization.
  • Conducts routine safety inspections, analyzes high hazard areas and makes recommendations for elimination and control of hazards
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA, DOT and EPA, prepares necessary reports and maintains compliance records
  • Assists risk management in preparing the safety portion of the pre-qualification documents
  • Provides oversight and implementation of hazardous waste removal

MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Creates labeling shipment proof of deliveries
  • Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned
  • May chairs safety committee meetings
  • Responds and provides assistance to emergency situations
  • Attends conferences, meeting, and workshops to keep up-to-date on new safety methods and procedures to applicable codes and regulations or to maintain required level of certification
  • Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned
  • NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS :

  • Interacts with vendors
  • Interacts with Service Department and Interior Division
  • Interacts with Denver Operations Manager
  • Interacts with regulatory safety agencies
  • Interacts with other Departments
  • TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS :

    A High School Diploma or GED and one or more years of relevant experience involving demonstrated abilities in stocking, shipping, ordering supplies and forklift; or any combination of training, education and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple work activities to meet critical deadlines, as well as working independently
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and in writing
  • Ability to operate computer, telephone, 10-key and other office equipment
  • Must have good computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases
  • Strong work ethic with an enthusiastic, positive attitude, and the highest level of integrity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance
  • Ability to understand and comply with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety applicable to the Company
  • Previous experience in environmental health and safety compliance required
  • Excellent computer skills in word processing, and spreadsheets

    Work is performed in a safe office environment and warehouse. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to : sit for long periods of time; use computer to enter data; use telephone to converse with customers, staff, and other departments; perform repetitive wrist, hand and / or finger movement. The employee is regularly required to : talk, feel the attributes of objects, grasp, push, and reach with arms or hands. Specific vision abilities include : clarity of vision at 20 inches or less; ability to adjust eye to bring an object into sharp focus; ability to use forklift and to lift 70 lbs., climb ladders and operate forklift.
