Inventory Management Specialist (Order Fulfillment Specialist)

This position is in support of the ILSC Contract at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen, MD. As an Inventory Management Specialist (Order Fulfillment Specialist) you will be responsible for delivering logistic support to ensure order fulfillment according to applicable Army regulations and guidance. The selected candidate must hold a Secret or higher-level Clearance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Delivers logistics, sustainment, and materiel readiness from the installation to the forward tactical edge to ensure globally dominant land force capabilities.
Responsible for optimizing order fulfillment and driving toward readiness of the supported warfighters.
Responsible for ensuring accurate and on-time order delivery.
Evaluates and develops opportunities to improve Order Fulfillment processes.
Engages with supported units on order fulfillment and supply chain matters, ensuring responsive communication.
Builds and sustains relationships with supported units.
Coordinates the resolution of problems that arise within assigned areas.
Contacts and coordinates with appropriate functional areas of the supply chain and weapon system teams for resolution of problems.
Ensures orders are processed according to applicable Army regulations and AMC guidance and can be fulfilled to meet supported unit expectations.
Validates orders through data verification using information related to the supported end item maintenance records and available information about the operational mission.
Anticipates problems and initiates actions to ensure that supported units' orders are processed promptly and efficiently.
Addresses and supports resolving system issues, especially in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, that reduce or inhibit requisition processing effectiveness.
Monitors error trends to find recurring error causes and works with subject matter experts to resolve underlying problems.
Participates in operational, tactical, and strategic initiatives within the order fulfillment functional area to support long-range plans.
Assists in identifying, developing, and implementing best practices throughout the order fulfillment cycle.

Qualifications :

Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related scientific or technical discipline; or

8 years logistics experience; or

Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) certificate with four (4) years additional related experience.

Preferred Experience with :

Data Collecting, organizing and interpreting;

Validating and processing orders;

Partnering with other stakeholders to ensure order fulfillment; and

Identifying and resolving issues within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system or G Army

Clearance : The selected candidate must hold a Secret or higher-level Clearance.

Work Environment :

Moderate noise is typical for this work environment.

Must be able to remain in a sitting / stationary position for more than 50% off the time.

Constantly operates a computer.

Physical Demands :

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
