Compensation:62,000 - 70,000 yearly (commensurate with experience)
Responsibilities:- Manage and grow a caseload of misdemeanor, traffic, and OVI/DUI matters, with opportunities to expand into more complex cases as skills develop
- Represent clients in hearings, pleas, sentencings, pretrials, and trials—with guidance and mentorship from senior attorneys
- Draft persuasive motions, briefs, and sentencing memoranda
- Conduct client consultations and help people understand their rights, options, and the path forward
- Communicate proactively and compassionately with clients
- Collaborate daily with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to move cases forward efficiently
- Maintain clear documentation and follow internal processes and case-management systems
Qualifications:- Licensed attorney in Ohio (or planning to take/recently passed the bar)
- Previous exposure to criminal law—through externships, clinics, internships, volunteer work, or employment—is preferred but not required
- Strong writer who wants to refine legal research, motion practice, and advocacy skills
- Excellent communicator who treats clients and colleagues with dignity and respect
- Organized, responsible, and self-directed
- Values collaboration, teamwork, and lifting others up
- Interest in becoming tech-savvy with Microsoft Office, macOS, iPadOS, and case-management software
- Ability to drive throughout Northeast Ohio for court appearances
