Maintenance Manager
Cerrowire is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to join our team in Hartselle, Alabama! This is an exciting opportunity to lead a talented maintenance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The Maintenance Manager will oversee all plant maintenance operationsincluding preventive and predictive maintenance programs, troubleshooting, equipment reliability, and facilities managementto ensure safe and efficient production across the facility. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, and a proven track record of driving equipment uptime, reliability, and team development. This role is key to supporting Cerrowire's commitment to operational excellence and creating a safe, high-performing manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include :
- Maintenance of all plant equipment with an emphasis on planning / scheduling and preventive / predictive maintenance
- Ensuring that a formal preventative maintenance program is followed, tracked, and modified when new equipment is added to the facility or with recurring problems on equipment
- Maintenance of building and grounds
- Planning, developing, setting, and meeting timelines for projects and regular maintenance issues
- Managing maintenance team members
- Ensuring maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated to ensure that work is accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner
- Mentoring and developing team members to facilitate growth within the company
- Purchasing and managing the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment
- Maintaining a computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment
- Responsible for new equipment installation while assisting with selection and design
- Maintaining fire protection system
- Maintaining records of day-to-day maintenance and services undertaken in the facility
- Recommending equipment modifications, repairs, or replacement
- Ensuring OSHA regulations are met while creating a safe work environment including plant, grounds, and equipment
- Managing all hazardous and non-hazardous waste collection and disposal
- Responsible for management of forklift maintenance and repairs
- Responsible for coordinating and correcting issues found during FM Global insurance inspections
- Keeping lockout / tagout procedures and documentation current on all equipment
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards
- Handling cost negotiations on maintenance inventory items, negotiating lead times and delivery terms
- Initiating and carrying out projects to improve efficiencies and reduce operating costs
- Collaborating with other departments in establishing priorities
- Conducting employee performance appraisals to determine competency, knowledge, and individual contributions of the maintenance technicians
- Maintaining and updating operating and training manuals for the maintenance department
- Responsible for start up and shut down operations within the facility
- Performs other duties as assigned
