About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred

License : Valid state nursing license

Certifications : BLS, ACLS required

Must-Have :

• Epic experience required
• Previous travel experience preferred

Description :

Weekdays and some weekends required.

Rotating holidays included.

Floating within units of equivalent or lower acuity is required.

Day shifts run from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM and night shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM.

Guaranteed 36 hours per week for both day and night shifts.

Up to 6 weekend shifts may be required per 4-week schedule period.

Patient ratios are estimated at 1 : 1.

Skills required include IV starts, telemetry, ventilators, and Swanz catheters.

Experience with conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and pulmonary artery lines is necessary.

Epic experience is mandatory.

Candidates should have previous travel experience.

Additional skills required include arterial line management, assisting with chest tube insertion / removal, and management of BiPAP and CPAP.

Care of ventilated patients and central line management are essential.

Experience with continuous IV sedation and various cardiac procedures is necessary.

Familiarity with infection prevention and isolation precautions is required.

Candidates should be able to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and manage high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC).

Experience with ventilator management and ECMO is essential.

Understanding of hemodynamic monitoring, temporary pacemakers, and mass transfusion protocols is required.

The unit caters to adults with a daily census averaging 28 patients.

Diverse patient diagnoses include cardiovascular conditions requiring intensive care, post-operative care, and complex medical needs.

Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy.

Additional emphasis is on patient safety and effective communication in a fast-paced environment.
