WEEKLY HOURS - .5 COURSE CREDIT : No more than 10 hours per week. No more than 6 hours per day, plus complete a self-reflection project and present it during the last week of the internship. Currently a 1 - 2 semester limit.
The internship is unpaid, and interns will not receive any financial compensation.

Summary of Position
The Warehouse Intern will work with the APS Title I McKinney-Vento Program to prepare materials for students and families experiencing homelessness in the Albuquerque Public Schools Attendance Area. Warehouse Interns will work in collaboration with and under the direction of team members to sort and stock items, fill orders, organize delivery items, and welcome donations to the warehouse. The Warehouse Intern will be active in solutions for accessing education, including school supplies, food, hygiene and health items, clothing, and basic needs, as well as basic housewares and materials to stabilize families. Students who have been part of the APS Title I McKinney-Vento program are encouraged to consider this opportunity; the APS Title I McKinney-Vento program encourages students interested in vocational careers, business, social work, and caregiving careers to consider the Warehouse Intern position.

We will teach you basic warehouse organization, including sorting, stocking, order fulfillment, general organization, and customer service; patience, perspective taking, and problem solving will be developed through this internship.
Working and Physical Conditions / Onboarding Requirements (
Please speak to your SEL Teacher / Advisor / Mentor regarding working and physical conditions at your intern site. You will also be required to sign and upload a Parental Permission form. In addition, you will be required to electronically acknowledge Non-Disclosure and Internship agreements.
As part of your application, you will be expected to fill out your emergency contact information, school, and other personal information as required by Albuquerque Public Schools Work-Based Learning programs and the New Mexico Public Education Department. Failure to do so or omission, or erroneous information will result in your application being rejected.
