License : Must meet applicant eligibility requirements for CT Certification (ARRT) and be achieved within 12 months of hire date.

Certifications : AHA BLS required.

Must-Have :

• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty OR
• Graduate of a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty.

Description :

This entry-level position works under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor / preceptor.

The role involves achieving initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and / or radiologic technology services.

Services are provided to adult and / or pediatric patient populations.

The purpose is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and / or diseases.

Utilizing entry-level knowledge and skills, the technologist provides safe and efficient patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions.

Care settings include acute inpatient facilities, outpatient physician practices, and diagnostic / urgent care centers.

The technologist prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians.

Communication and collaboration with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team are essential.

Actions necessary to achieve clinical outcomes, operational goals, and service expectations must be identified and implemented.

A variety of highly specialized cardiovascular and / or radiologic equipment and techniques are utilized to perform diagnostic, interventional, and / or surgical procedures.

All procedures must follow established scope of practice guidelines.

Post-procedure reviews confirm that required elements are completed, documented, and that technical quality is consistent with established department protocols.

Images and data are transferred to appropriate archival systems, and technical data findings are entered to prepare for physician reporting.

Operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and maintenance are performed per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines.

Participation in continuing education, professional development, and research activities is required to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care and treatments.

Skills required include the application of principles of cardiovascular and / or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, and medical ethics.

Teamwork and adherence to instructions are essential.

Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs is necessary.

The ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately is important.

Multi-tasking and remaining calm in stressful situations are required.

Understanding various operations, policies, and procedures is essential.

Strong communication skills with patients, families, and staff are important to meet their needs in a professional and courteous manner.

A high level of initiative, effort, and commitment to completing assignments efficiently is expected.

The ability to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate attention to detail is essential.

Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology is necessary.

Understanding cardiovascular and / or radiologic technologies and terminology associated with the primary specialty is required.

The ability to apply core-level primary specialty theory, practices, and techniques to perform and analyze study data or procedure documentation with general supervision or assistance is expected.
