About the Clinician's Workday

This Hematology / Oncology practice is primarily outpatient with 24 / 7 inpatient consult availability supported by an on-call physician. The team benefits from a seasoned nursing and chemotherapy staff, established emergency protocols for adverse drug reactions, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration with Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Pathology, and Radiology. The schedule includes staggered hours, with some providers starting early and one provider staying until 6 PM. There is an opportunity for a leadership role, and the practice aims for a 1 : 1 APP oversight model (1 NP per MD). The practice is supported by highly competent clerical and support staff, including oncology navigators, social workers, financial counselors, and a dedicated clinical trials team. Regular tumor conferences are held, including weekly Breast and Thoracic Tumor Boards and monthly GU and GYN Tumor Boards. On-site resources include PET CT and hematology lab capabilities, while additional labs such as tumor markers and iron studies are sent out.
