Your Role
As a Gensler Senior Interior Designer , you are passionate about your craft and combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You have exceptional design skills, a background in architecture or design, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You are an integral member of the design team who contributes a point of view and craves participation in conceptual thought process and design exploration. What You Will Do
- Lead interior design teams on projects
- Collaborate on workplace interiors projects, including programming client needs, conceptual and schematic design, design development, and management of budgets and schedules
- Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents
- Participate in selection of furniture systems and specifications
- Provide project team coordination for finish plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction
- Work with consultants, developers, furniture dealers, product reps, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives
- Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
- Contribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programs
- Participate in business development and marketing efforts
- Assures design conforms to contractual agreement with client
- Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships
- Provide quality control reviews, QAQC of milestone drawing and FF&E specification deliverables
- Provides coaching and mentorship to team members
- Contribute to the recruitment process of new staff
Your Qualifications
15+ years of experience as an interior designer, with a focus on hospitality interiors and workplace design experienceBachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited schoolNCIDQ or Certified Interior Designer requiredProficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3D, Rhino, Grasshopper, and other modeling software programsExperience on interior renovation of historical buildings will be highly valuedProficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Strong knowledge of the design process, knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, millwork design, accessories, and specificationsExperience with construction document preparationGraphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideasStrong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skillsAll applications must include a portfolio for full consideration.
