Job Title : Director of Employee Relations
Location : Rochester, NY – Potential for Hybrid Flexibility
Department : Human Resources
Reports To : Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)
Employment Type : Full-Time, Days
Starting Wage : $100,000–$120,000 annually

Your Core Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive employee relations strategy aligned with our mission and values.Serve as the primary advisor on complex employee relations matters, including investigations, grievances, and conflict resolution.Oversee and conduct impartial investigations, ensuring fairness, confidentiality, and legal compliance.Provide coaching and mentorship to HR staff, including an HR Specialist and HR Receptionist.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including NYS labor laws and OPWDD regulations.Review and update policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.Deliver training to managers on performance documentation, compliance, and employee relations best practices.Collaborate with HR peers in talent acquisition, benefits, and learning & development to ensure cohesive practices.Manage the Unemployment Insurance claim process and analyze trends to reduce future claims.What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in employee relations.5+ years of experience managing direct reports and leading HR professionals.Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance, especially in NYS.Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.Strategic thinking, sound judgment, and high integrity.Proficiency in HRIS systems (UKG preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.Experience in nonprofit or human services settings is a plus.Our Mission & Culture
