Overview
We are seeking a full-time Lead Requirements Analyst in our Novi, MI location. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, documenting, and effectively communicating requirements for medium to large projects of average to significant complexity for products across a strategic channel and will work closely with project teams, including multiple stakeholders, to ensure requirements are understood and deliverables are aligned with long-term business objectives as well as project objectives.
Essential Functions
- Manage Stakeholder, System, and Software requirements for medium to large projects of average to significant complexity for products across a strategic channel
- Create and manage the System and Software Requirements Specifications
- Identify discrepancies and conflicts in requirements
- Clarify requirements with Stakeholders and downstream consumers
- Manage reviews of requirements, and requirement management tooling and methods with teams throughout the organization
- Work closely with cross-functional project teams, including multiple stakeholders
- Appropriately identify and communicate risks related to requirements
- Report on status of requirements to the Project Manager
- Ensure requirements correctness, completeness, traceability, and testability in compliance with applicable standards
- Manage change requests as it relates to changes in requirements
- Identify and suggest improvements to engineering processes with respect to Scope Management and Requirements Analysis
- Ability to manage diverse tool chains and multiple document formats
- Provide reliable solutions for a variety of problems using sound problem-solving techniques
- Ability to proactively drive teams to creative and pragmatic solutions
- Demonstrate proficient use and knowledge of established industry standards and procedures
- Consistently demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced requirements analysts

- Partner with multiple Garmin Product Managers to develop and document requirements using use cases, scenarios, complex and perhaps conflicting business workflow analyses
- Support internal / external audits as it relates to requirements (IATF-16949, ASPICE, VDA, etc.)
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Software Engineering, Math or Physics or a technical field or another relevant field AND a minimum of 9 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceAdvanced understanding and experience in the field of requirements engineeringAdvanced understanding of ASPICE, specifically in terms of SYS.1, SYS.2, SYS.3, and SWE.1Strong experience with requirements management tools (JAMA, DOORs, etc.)Agile / Scrum methodology experience and / or trainingExperience with JIRAKnowledge of FMEA methodologyExperience working with Global teamsDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrated sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities to develop solutions in a timely fashionWelcome constructive feedback as an opportunity to improveConsistent demonstration of quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organizationDemonstrated professional approach to situations in which conflict is presentMust exhibit professionalism, be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with othersProficiency using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and ExcelExcellent time management and follow-up skillsDesired Qualifications
