Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced PACS Consultant to support the implementation, integration, optimization, and maintenance of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) within healthcare environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in radiology workflows, DICOM standards, RIS integration, and vendor-based PACS solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead PACS implementation, upgrades, and system optimization projects
- Configure and support PACS systems across radiology and imaging departments
- Ensure seamless integration with RIS, HIS, EMR, and other clinical systems
- Troubleshoot DICOM, HL7, and modality connectivity issues
- Collaborate with radiologists, technicians, and IT teams to improve imaging workflows
- Perform system testing, validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Provide end-user training and documentation
- Support data migration and system transitions
- Maintain system performance, security, and compliance standards
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience working with PACS systemsStrong knowledge of DICOM, HL7, and Radiology Information Systems (RIS)Experience supporting medical imaging modalities (CT, MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound)Hands-on experience with at least one major PACS vendor (e.g., GE, Philips, Siemens, Agfa, Sectra, Fuji, Carestream)Understanding of radiology workflows and healthcare IT environmentsExperience with troubleshooting integration and interoperability issuesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with cloud-based PACS solutionsKnowledge of VNA (Vendor Neutral Archive)Healthcare IT certificationsExperience in hospital or multi-site healthcare systemsFamiliarity with HIPAA or healthcare data compliance standardsKey Skills
