We are seeking an experienced, strategic Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) Manager to join our growing team. This full-time role offers an immediate opportunity to lead client accounting engagements, mentor staff, and collaborate directly with business owners to deliver meaningful financial insights and process improvements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong leadership, analytical, and client service skills who thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Position Summary

The Client Accounting and Advisory Services Manager will work closely with the Accounting Services team to manage, train and develop staff while also providing accounting and business advisory services to our client base.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Review accounting and bookkeeping prepared by staff for corporations, flow-through entities, and sole proprietor businesses.
  • Supervise, train, develop, and assess the performance of CAAS associates to support their professional growth.
  • Consult with clients on a variety of accounting and business management issues, performing related research to develop effective solutions.
  • Provide training and guidance to clients and staff on QuickBooks, BILL, payroll systems, and related accounting software.
  • Prepare and analyze client financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and profitability models.
  • Proactively engage with client management teams to recommend improvements in business processes and procedures.
  • Participate in advanced continuing professional education (CPE) to enhance technical expertise and support staff development.
  • Develop, document, and maintain CAAS department policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage new client onboarding and oversee ongoing client accounting engagements to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of financial information.
  • Oversee compliance functions such as annual 1099 reporting, sales tax filings, and quarterly payroll tax submissions.
  • Assign projects to staff and monitor workload and progress through the firm’s project tracking systems.
  • Advise clients on the firm’s full range of accounting, bookkeeping, and business advisory services.
  • Support business development efforts by participating in client calls, preparing fee quotes and proposals, conducting presentations, and managing engagement documentation.
  • Build and strengthen client and referral relationships to generate new business opportunities for the firm.
  • Assist with billing processes and maintain positive, professional client relationships
  • Contribute to additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support team and firm objectives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Experience

  • 5-7+ years of experience in public or private accounting or tax practice, including supervisory experience as a manager, controller, or assistant controller
  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting principles and business management practices
  • Strong analytical, writing, and organizational abilities with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of staff, departments, and client relationships
  • Highly proficient with QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), BILL, and other payment or project management systems; adaptable to new technologies
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, fostering teamwork and a positive, solutions-oriented attitude
  • License / Certification

  • CPA or CMA preferred, not required
