J&L Construction, LLC is a business specializing in heavy civil utilities construction in Denton, TX. We want to extend our team and for a full-time Operator 1. Functions and Responsibilities

Coordinate, maintain and operate heavy machinery

Capable of operating hand and power tools

Ensure safe work practices and compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards

Assist in preparing sites for construction activities, including grading, trenching, and excavation.

Load, transport, and unload materials to and from job sites as needed.

Work closely with project managers, foremen, and other team members to coordinate activities on-site.

Perform a wide variety task, to include transferring from one task to another as the workflow dictates

Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and make reports / troubleshoot as needed

Assist with general labor duties as needed

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

Proficiency in safely operating skid steers and excavators

Ideal candidate will have 3+ years of related experience operating heavy equipment

Must be knowledgeable with trench and excavation requirements for depths of 25 ft or greater

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, heavy equipment operator) preferred

Strong mechanical aptitude

Ability to lift heavy objects, work in varying weather conditions, and stand for extended periods as well as bend, stoop and crouch as needed to perform key duties

Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis

Capable of following work directions and effective communication with Superintendents and fellow employees

Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
