Document Control Specialist – Aerospace Manufacturing

Status : Full-Time / Exempt
Salary Range : $70,000 - $95,000, Depending on experience

Position Summary
The Document Control Specialist ensures that all technical documentation, drawings, and work instructions are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with internal processes and aerospace quality standards. This role works closely with Quality, Engineering, Production, and other stakeholders to maintain document integrity across all stages of manufacturing. The specialist supports process improvement, regulatory compliance, and smooth operations through effective document and revision control.
Key Responsibilities
Document & Drawing Management
- Transition and manage all controlled documents into new ERP / PLM software (EPICOR)
- Develop long term strategy for revision control and induction of new documents into document warehouse and train organization on new process flow.
- Manage drawing revisions, redline submissions, and technical documentation accuracy
- Coordinate approval of technical documents through proper channels
- Ensure all printed and digital documents are current and accessible on the floor and online
- Perform floor audits to confirm teams are working with latest revisions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain effective revision control on travelers
- Notify stakeholders promptly when revisions are completed
- Manage specification control and oversee revision management
Quality & Compliance Support
Assist in contract reviews to verify customer requirements align with the Quality System and identify exceptionsContribute and adhere to CMMC documentation control requirements and work with our IT and Cyber Security Manager to ensure compliance on controlled items is maintained.Work directly with internal and external customers to understand system and technical requirementsSupport customer programs and documentation including APQP, product verification, process improvement, and specificationsParticipate in FMEA development and associated control plansMay serve as Designated Quality Representative (DQR) for Prime customersPerform defect analysis and facilitate Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) with cross-functional teamsSupport continuous process improvement initiatives to increase yield and reduce costs associated with poor qualityTraining & Team Support
Provide training to shop floor personnel and support functions as neededCoordinate and track internal employee quality training requirementsSupport Plant and Supplier teams by aligning documentation with outstanding work and rework resolutionEnsure production teams complete documentation per process requirementsWork with Operations to resolve gaps and accurately report documentation issuesOther Duties
Manage multiple priorities and time effectively in a fast-paced environmentPerform other duties as assigned by managementRequired Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing process / production floor support, Quality Specialist / Admin, or similar roleExperience facilitating and performing effective Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA)Knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality standardsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient with computer systems and office applicationsCustomer service oriented, detail-focused, results-driven, with high integrity and trustAbility to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computerAbility to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally and traverse a manufacturing facilityPhysical Requirements
