Job Summary :

The Research Analyst plays a key role in supporting data-driven decision-making across Hager Companies by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting market, industry, and competitive intelligence. This position focuses on understanding market and competitor trends, pricing dynamics, product positioning, and industry performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, business acumen, financial modeling knowledge, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that inform strategic planning, product development, and long-term growth initiatives.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Engage in a variety of research based activities to build a foundation for macro economic and industry based data to leverage across the organization.
  • Develop databases, forecasting models and performance benchmarks to support business planning.
  • Conduct competitive intelligence analyses, including market share comparisons, pricing, product offerings, emerging trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Support the development of strategic recommendations based on market conditions, customer segmentation, and industry forecasts.
  • Draft questionnaires, polls, surveys, and other data collection resources.
  • Identify potential new products or markets through research.
  • Prepare and present Power BI reports and dashboards summarizing key insights for leadership, sales, and product teams.
  • Monitor and summarize relevant economic, regulatory, and technological developments impacting the business.
  • Partner with cross-functional departments to align market insights with business objectives.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and confidentiality in all market-related reporting.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education : Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing, Business Analytics, or related field required; Master's degree desired but not required.

Experience : Minimum of one year experience in market research, business analytics, or competitive intelligence preferred.

Skills / Knowledge : Strong proficiency in data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and data visualization.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation. Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills . Proven ability to analyze large data sets and distill insights into concise, actionable recommendations.

Physical Requirements : Normal office environment which requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and see. May involve the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects of up to 15 to 20 pounds, infrequently.
