Description

Position Purpose : Responsible for strategy execution and operational direction of actuarial efforts for the large group line of business to drive profitable revenue growth. Develops large group manual rates pricing recommendations reinsurance analysis stop loss pricing discount analyses and claim repricing. Incorporates the results of trend analysis and other pricing factor analysis into rating manuals. Conducts other actuarial analyses and provides actuarial support to underwriting marketing smaller wholly owned subsidiaries and in support of other business objectives. Conducts case specific pricing to support National Alliance and large group ASO business.

Location : This position is full-time (40-hours / week) Monday-Friday in a typical office environment. You will work an 8-hour shift scheduled during our normal business hours of 8 : 00AM-5 : 00PM. It may be necessary given the business need to work occasional overtime. You may be required to travel between buildings. This role is located at 4101 Percival Road Columbia SC 29229.

What Youll Do :

• Directs and provides leadership support for line of business by setting and guiding actuarial initiatives. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and actuarial standards.
• Designs and prepares actuarial reports. Conducts risk assessments needed to meet financial objectives.
• Develops pricing for new benefits models financial impacts of alternative rating arrangements and prepares the corporate financial plan and multi-year forecast.
• Responsible for hiring and maintaining staff which includes interviewing and selection of personnel completing performance reviews counseling staff and other administrative matters. Develops professional staff by identifying and coordinating training needs. Performs other special projects and ad hoc analyses as requested.
