This is a highly responsible Accountant III position reporting to the Public Health Services Manager of the Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County (FDOH in Santa Rosa County). The incumbent performs, with minimal supervision, a wide variety of budgetary functions as well as complex accounting functions involving the application of accounting concepts in accordance with established policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS). This position is subject to time constraints and must be performed with a high rate of accuracy. Key responsibilities include : Acts as Travel Champion for the Statewide Travel Management System (STMS), Performs budgetary monitoring; Medicaid Cost Report, Serves as Internal Auditor for FDOH in Santa Rosa County and Other tasks. The employee must be able to use independent judgment and initiative as well as interact professionally with clients, vendors, staff, and the public.
