Overview
Manage overall activities and plans of the Quality department (Customer Window, Weld Quality, Stamping Quality, New Model Quality, Dimensional Accuracy) to ensure safety, quality of workmanship, professionalism of associates and support of company and corporate goals.
Responsibilities
- Understand KLP principles, policies and goals. Develop MPQ department principles, policies and goals with key measurable for Sr. Manager and Officer approval. Communicate these to the MPQ members along with any direction for development of the business plan activities. Review, critique and approve the plans to create Department Business Plan. Compile the budgetary resource information based on the business plan to establish the departmental budget. After final officer approval, issue the plan and budget for tracking results.
- Ensure the results for both Business Plan Activity and Budget Activity meet the stated goals or the delta items are clearly understood and communicated to the Sr. Manager.
- Provide overall direction, necessary resources, and support for all department activity and direct support for those areas identified on the MPQ organizational chart as outlined in the KLP Quality Systems Manuals. This includes coordination of inter company activity, Officer support, corporate quality activity and analysis of resource allocations (including manpower and overtime).
- Provide guidance and opportunity for development of the skills and abilities of all department associates. Provide clear values, expectations and examples for others to follow.
- Feed forward to the department information and direction for Sr. Management and Officers. Feedback to the Officers the results and concerns as outlined in the "Quality Communication Process Flow."
- Ensure adherence to plant Safety, Quality and general policies while providing direction for improvement or disciplinary action. Communicate all concerns with Sr. Management and Administration for confirmation of direction.
- Establish and promote (through examples) values and principles for success such as "Team Keys to Success."
- Develop with associates, plans to meet business plan goals (using P.D.C.A.).
- Track completion of the activity in the plan and analyze the results against the goals for further improvement activity.
- Coordinate and direct the daily activity of all MPQ associates.
- Ability to work overtime and / or weekends.
- Ability to rotate jobs or shifts.
- Maintain attendance per KLP policy.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Additional Responsibilities
Support reporting requirements for such programs as J-SOX, C-TPAT, Corporate Governance, TPM, SQCD and ISO as they pertain to the technical departments.Coordinate activities of the following contract services : Sort Companies.Perform associate counseling at final warning level and terminations as needed.Create and maintain a positive relationship with customers, and suppliers relevant to KLP's business to improve products, cost and / or services.Travel as needed for company business.Perform other tasks timely according to the requests of company officers.Qualifications
Education / Knowledge : High School Diploma or general equivalent diploma (GED) and additional certifications in Quality-related areas.Experience : At least three (3) years of supervisory leadership.Skills : Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos; Ability to write simple correspondence; Ability to effectively use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point; Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages.Communication : Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions; Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.Job Details
