Position Summary :
As a Medical Assistant, you will support providers in our medical office settings, taking on a variety of roles essential for delivering quality patient care and enhancing medical office productivity. The role requires both administrative and clinical duties, with a strong emphasis on detail, accuracy, professionalism, and superior customer service.
Education / Certification :
High school diploma or equivalent AND one of the following :
Completed Medical Assistant ProgramCertification / Registration as a Medical Assistant5+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant (in lieu of being a Registered MA)5+ years of experience as a Nurse Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant (with at least 1 year of experience)Experience :
Previous experience working in a medical facility is highly preferred.

Greet patients and prepare them for examinations according to established protocols.Keep patient charts updated and document sample medications dispensed.Oversee vaccine programs following state guidelines.Check and restock exam rooms, ensuring they are prepared daily.Maintain inventory of medical supplies and report needs to the Office Coordinator / Practice Manager.Report equipment malfunctions promptly.Clean and sterilize equipment, preparing surgical trays as indicated.Assist with office surgical procedures.Perform EKGs and Spirometry as ordered.Communicate lab results to patients and ensure follow-up based on physician instructions.Process prescription refill requests according to office protocol.Prepare specimens and paperwork for lab submissions.Instruct patients on proper specimen collection techniques.Conduct monthly checks of medications and dispose of expired items appropriately.Obtain pre-certifications for tests and procedures as necessary.Coordinate referrals and outside testing as instructed by physicians.Maintain a neat and organized work area.Document compliance with CLIA regulations.Participate in Patient Centered Medical Home Care Team collaborations.Float to other offices and perform additional duties as requested by management.Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
