General Manager

Job Overview : We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead and oversee all operations at our vessel relocation company. The General Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and profitable day-to-day operations of the business, including managing logistics, staff, customer relationships, and financial performance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the transportation or boating industry, and a passion for delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the company's vessel relocation operations, ensuring seamless and efficient service delivery.
- Supervise logistics planning and route scheduling, ensuring on-time and safe transportation of boats.
- Monitor operational performance and implement improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Team Leadership and Staff Management
Lead, motivate, and develop a team of drivers, logistics coordinators, and administrative staff.Conduct regular staff performance evaluations and provide training to improve skills and performance.Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and local, state, and federal laws.Financial Oversight
Develop and manage the company's budget, monitor expenses, and ensure financial targets are met.Prepare financial reports for ownership, including profit and loss statements, budgeting, and forecasting.Implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing exceptional service and ensuring their needs are met.Resolve customer concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner.Identify opportunities for business growth through customer feedback and market analysis.Business Development and Strategy
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's client base.Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and attract new clients.Collaborate with ownership on long-term business goals and objectives, ensuring growth and profitability.Compliance and Safety
Ensure the company complies with all relevant regulations, including licensing, insurance, and safety requirements.Develop and enforce safety protocols for hauling operations, ensuring a safe work environment for staff and customers.Maintain and update required documentation, including vehicle inspections, permits, and certifications.Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management or leadership role within the transportation, logistics, or boating industry.Proven track record of successfully managing operations, teams, and financial performance.Skills
