We are seeking an experienced Aerial Construction Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of aerial Outside Plant (OSP) construction projects. The successful candidate will manage field crews, ensure adherence to construction schedules and safety regulations, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency. This role is critical to the successful delivery of our fiber network infrastructure and requires strong leadership, technical, and communication skills. The position includes interpreting prepared plans and specifications to oversee aerial construction projects, enforce codes, ordinances, and construction techniques related to projects. This is a salaried position, with work times to be determined by the needs of the project and company.
Responsibilities
- Perform a thorough review of incoming projects
- Organize and coordinate workload to determine priority of duties
- Maintain project tracking system (Fieldwire & Data Warehouse) to keep field and upper management up to date with project progress
- Oversee day-to-day OSP aerial construction operations including installation of fiber optic cable, strand placement, pole transfers, and make-ready work
- Provide oversight, leadership, and mentorship to the field team
- Conduct field inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, local / state / federal regulations, and safety requirements
- Work with the Project Manager to ensure effective crew and resource allocation
- Build and maintain positive partnerships with GAC departments, customers, subcontractors, municipalities, and inspectors
- Hold weekly meetings with crews to inform and address issues
- Ensure field personnel adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Work with local utility locating services and utility providers to ensure utilities are marked
- Ensure safety practices are followed in the field, including PPE
- Coordinate traffic control needs for the project
- Create and send weekly Production As-builts to contractors and billing team to ensure invoicing is processed within project timelines
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and Work Experience :High school diploma or GED required
