Join Texas Health Resources as a PRN Registered Echo Sonographer at Heart & Vascular Specialists Clinic. This is a full-time, days position.
Work Location : 1400 Hospital Parkway, Suite 100, Bedford, TX 76022
Work Hours : PRN – As Needed, Day Shift, Monday thru Friday, 8 : 30am - 5 : 00pm
Requirements :
- 1 year experience preferably in a Hospital setting (preferred)
- Good communication and excellent customer service
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained Quarterly (required)
Job Responsibilities :
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Registered Echo Sonographer ProcessExplains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to examPositions patient to correct anatomical area of interestPerforms complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerationsAdjusts techniques parameters appropriately for age related factorAssists cardiologist with TEE procedures, Stress Echos, and other complex procedures using appropriate techniquesMaintains attention to detailsProcesses and manipulates images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, makes technique adjustments or repeat procedures as neededCorrectly maintains images on various electronic media, exports studies to physician reading station and maintains image data filesCoordinates with Centralized Scheduling, Cardiovascular Services, physicians and other modalities, doctor's office and nursesPerforms EKGs as requested by departmentPatient Care :
Assesses and recognizes the patient's emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditionsPrepares room for examination (i.e., suction, oxygen, supplies)Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time out proceduresGreets and acknowledges patients using two forms of IDObtains patient historyHandles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices and monitors patients during imagingDemonstrates knowledge of emergency drugs and equipmentUses proper body mechanics when assisting patientsProcesses patient information, displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as neededEquipment Operation and Maintenance :
Adjusts technical factorsOperates, cares for and maintains equipmentApplies knowledge of physics and accessoriesTroubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunctionMaintains equipment and room to sanitary standardsStocks suppliesExchanges and maintains radiology film badgesDemonstrates the knowledge and understanding of quality control and regulatory standardsBenefits :
