Several vacancies exist in the Department of Recreation and Parks for Recreation Activity Coordinators.
Pay Schedule I, Grade 19. Regular Schedule : 35 hours per week.

Job Purpose
Under close supervision, is responsible for the direct leadership of a wide variety of recreation activities, nature activities, and special events.

Required Education and Experience
Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent; Plus Two years' successful experience as a playground leader, recreation leader, recreation specialist, teacher, or worker in a closely allied field.

Licenses and Certificates
Possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a noncommercial class C Maryland driver's license is required at the time of appointment.

Examination Procedure
Qualified applicants will be assigned a rating based on an evaluation of their training and experience, as submitted on their application and supplemental questions.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
The work of this classification entails some physical labor including walking over rough and uneven surfaces in the inspection of facilities and grounds, and some lifting and carrying of items.
The work entails travel to recreation and park sites, facilities, and meetings throughout the County.
Employees in this classification may be assigned to work nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
