Overview
A family-owned automotive repair and maintenance facility, established in 1993, is seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician. The company provides high-quality service with ASE-certified technicians, state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, and a strong reputation for professionalism and trust. As a certified NAPA Auto Care Center and Cummins dealer, the shop supports a wide range of vehicles, including domestic, Asian, European, RVs, motorhomes, and heavy-duty fleets.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, medium-duty vehicles, motorhomes, alternative fuel systems, and fleet vehicles.
Handle repairs and maintenance related to hydraulic systems, emission systems, transmissions (including Allison), fuel systems, and electrical diagnostics.
Conduct DOT inspections for heavy-duty trucks.
Complete alignments on light-duty vehicles, trucks, and motorhomes using Hunter equipment.
Work with advanced diagnostic tools and shop management software to track productivity and ensure efficient service.
Obtain a minimum of a Class B / 2 driver's license within 4–6 months (shop provides reimbursement for training costs once achieved).
Participate in ongoing training and certification programs, including Cummins and alternative fuel technology.
Collaborate with team members in a supportive, family-oriented environment.
Qualifications
6+ years of experience as a heavy-duty or diesel technician required.
Cummins certifications or equivalent diesel training are a plus.
Strong skills in heavy electrical diagnostics and emission repair.
Ability to reflash computers and perform advanced diagnostics.
Must be capable of handling repairs across multiple makes and models (Peterbilt, International, Mack, Caterpillar, Detroit, etc.).
Safety-conscious and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license required; willingness to obtain Class B / 2 license if not already held.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive pay : $42 - $45 hourly with bonus opportunities
Weekly efficiency bonuses ($70–$300 potential)
