GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for supporting the daily operations of the accounts payable department, The Accounts Payable Associate compiles, processes and maintains accounts payable records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Sort and distribute incoming correspondence from the AP inbox.
  • Administer the invoice distribution in accordance with payment run dates.
  • Monitor and appropriately communicate invoices received but not yet processed.
  • Maintain changes to the Level of Approval database in accordance with appropriate controls.
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries within appropriate timeframe.
  • Physical processing of checks each week.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, communication skills and multi-tasking skills.
  • Must be able to follow standard virtual filing procedures.

ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS.

  • Reconcile vendor statements, perform research, and correct discrepancies.
  • Assist in month end closing tasks related to position.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Perform as a trained back-up for certain other entity AP processes and for processing of ACH and Wire payments.

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred.
  • SKILLS $ ABILITIES

  • Accounts Payable experience preferred.
  • Role requires the ability to work onsite at the office in East Greenville, PA during scheduled payment runs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills Proficient in Excel and Word.
