Pay Information $2,506 per week About The Position Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day Hours per Shift : 10.5 Experience : Minimum 1 year in a PACU setting preferred License : Compact or state license required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have : - Previous charge experience preferred - Travel experience required - Epic charting system experience preferred Description : The role requires a registered nurse to care for patients in the recovery room post-surgery. The nurse will monitor patients as they awaken from anesthesia. Call is required approximately 4-5 times per month, including weekend call. The unit serves patients of varying ages including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily census is approximately 40 patients. Nurses should have experience in all types of surgery, including general, ortho, neuro, and OB. Special equipment experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Interdisciplinary support is available from various teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy services. This position also demands excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. Candidates should demonstrate competency in managing a variety of emergencies and critical situations.
