Position Description

The Residential Project Manager maintains key customer relationships, ensures timeline deliverables are met, keeps the pipeline moving, schedules upcoming projects, verifies materials and equipment are ready, and makes sure that our installation crews always have what they need to succeed. The right candidate will possess impeccable organization skills, thorough technical knowledge, and will display the requisite skills of a construction manager such as strong communication skills and the ability to both plan ahead and problem solve on-the-spot. The Project Manager should be well-versed in project planning and oversight as it pertains to the PV solar system layout and interconnection, energy storage (batteries), the backup interface unit, the addition of backup or generation electric sub panels, and the relocation of electric loads.

Responsibilities

• Teach, encourage and demonstrate working safely on the job
• Manage key accounts so that relationships with customers, general contractors and subcontractors are positive, professional, and rewarding. Ensure timelines are met. Communicate with 3rd-party Roofers and Electricians
• See that long-running projects continue to flow and move through the pipeline
• Verify materials are received and BOM is fulfilled. Ensure Installation team can "grab and go"
• Ensure accuracy of designs and plan sets
• Pre-construction planning and installation hand-off meetings
• Work aggressively to get jobs "unstuck" and to think creatively to pass inspections and overcome AHJ objections and misinterpretations of code, rules, designs, and installs
• Promote consistent job flow by assessing risk and "high-touch" elements of complex projects
• Maintain a rapport with all Installer team members, demonstrating leadership and good judgment
• Budget time for completing previous project punchlist / closeout while working on current project and planning for next project
• Optimize the profitability of the company through planning and operational efficiencies without jeopardizing safety or quality of work
• Manage build schedule and customer and stake-holder communications
