Accounts Payable Lead

Location :  Gilbert, AZ

Schedule :  Monday–Friday, 7 : 00 AM–4 : 00 PM

Robert Half is partnering with a dynamic and fast-paced organization seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to oversee and guide its Accounts Payable operations. This role is ideal for a proactive leader with a strong background in high-volume invoice processing, vendor management, and team supervision.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Team Oversight

  • Lead and manage a team of approximately 10 A / P professionals
  • Handle recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations
  • Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment

Accounts Payable Operations

  • Manage the full A / P cycle, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing
  • Review and approve invoices and payment requests for compliance and completeness
  • Ensure proper documentation and approvals for vendor payments
  • Oversee weekly processing of invoices across multiple entities
  • Vendor Relations & Reconciliation

  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and address payment inquiries
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies efficiently
  • Monitor account balances to ensure timely payments
  • Reporting & Compliance

  • Generate and distribute A / P reports including aging summaries, discount utilization, payment cycle metrics, cash flow forecasts, and team performance indicators
  • Support month-end close and annual audit processes
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and accounting standards
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes and industry best practices
  • Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for automation and workflow enhancements
  • Implement and enforce A / P policies and procedures
  • Take initiative on special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, including team leadership
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel; experience with ERP systems required
  • QuickBooks Online experience is highly preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Strong multitasking, time management, and deadline-driven capabilities
