Payments Counsel (State Licensed)

A company is looking for a Payments Product Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the Payments Subject Matter Expert for product launches involving digital currencies and related financial features

Advise teams on regulatory and compliance considerations across payments and virtual assets

Collaborate with legal, compliance, and product teams to assess risks and ensure compliant product design

Required Qualifications

J.D. (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar

5+ years of legal experience focused on payments, fintech, or financial services

Strong understanding of payments regulations, including money transmission and virtual currency frameworks

Ability to translate complex legal requirements into actionable business guidance
