As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA), you will support the healthcare provider by preparing patients for exams, performing clinical tasks within your scope of practice, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. This role is vital to the daily operations of our medical center and to the quality of care we provide.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare patients for exams and procedures
• Take vital signs, perform routine screenings, and document medical histories in the EMR
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures (e.g., pap smears, EKGs, suture removal, injections)
• Collect lab specimens and performs basic lab services
• Maintain exam room cleanliness and ensure supplies are stocked daily
• Escort patients within the facility and provide mobility assistance as needed
• Respond promptly to urgent symptoms (e.g., chest pain, shortness of breath)
• Manage EMR documentation accurately and efficiently
• Coordinate patient visits
• Support the team during staff shortages and rotate to other departments / sites when needed
• Follow HIPAA standards and infection control protocols
• Actively participate in daily meetings, evaluations, and required trainings

Education / Qualifications :

High school diploma or GED required

Graduate of an accredited Medical Office Assistant program required

Licenses / Certifications :

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through AAMA, AMT, or CCT

Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Skills :

Prior experience in an outpatient clinic or urgent care setting preferred

Strong patient care and clinical skills

Excellent communication and teamwork

Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment

Basic proficiency with EMR systems and office equipment

Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred but not required

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands

Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds

Exposure to clinical environments and infectious materials

Moderate noise levels

Occasional travel between Rock Hill and Chester locations
