What this job involves
The Senior General Manager serves as a strategic leader responsible for overseeing either a large, complex premier asset or multiple properties within a campus setting that function both as client facilities and as Class A commercial assets. This role provides focused leadership and expertise to ensure exceptional service delivery, financial performance, and superior client / tenant satisfaction while implementing strategic initiatives that optimize both facility operations and asset value.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement property-specific strategies that address both facility operations and commercial property management goals
Conduct regular property inspections and performance reviews to maintain Class A standards
Lead preparation and implementation of annual budgets for revenue, operating expenses, and capital expenses
Maintain exceptional client and tenant relationships while serving as primary senior-level contact for stakeholders
Supervise and mentor General Managers and other key personnel, setting clear performance expectations
Oversee significant construction projects, including review and approval of specifications and contractor deliverables
Implement innovative solutions and technology to enhance operational efficiency and pilot new initiatives
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Regular property inspections requiring walking, climbing stairs, and accessing various building areas
Office-based work with extensive computer use and documentation
Frequent meetings with clients, tenants, and team members
Occasional lifting and moving of materials related to property operations
Ability to respond to emergency situations outside normal business hours
Travel between multiple properties within assigned portfolio as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree required
Minimum of 8-10 years of facility and / or property management experience
5+ years of experience managing teams in a complex commercial property environment
Demonstrated success managing large scale or campus style commercial properties
Strong financial acumen with experience managing complex budgets and P&L responsibility
Real estate license required within the first six months (as required by jurisdiction)
Advanced operational knowledge of building systems and commercial property management
Preferred Qualifications
Industry accreditations (RPA, FMA, CPM) strongly preferred
LEED AP / Accreditation preferred
Experience with both operational management and financial oversight of significant real estate assets
Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships
Excellent project management and organizational skills with ability to handle complex operational challenges
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant property / facility management software
Superior leadership abilities with demonstrated success developing high performing teams
Estimated compensation
Estimated compensation for this position : 125,000.00 – 150,000.00 USD per year. This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
