General Summary
Reporting to the Supervisor of Distribution Operations, this position provides hands-on training to distribution operations associates. This role will support new hire onboarding, associate cross training opportunities, and facilitate re-train opportunities derived from reported associate errors. In addition, this role will create training content, maintain accurate training records, investigate, root cause customer reported issues, and create / update work instructions and specifications to properly document and train to process changes. This position must work between all REI distribution facilities in MA and NH.
Responsibilities
Using a hands-on approach instruct and guide distribution operations associates in learning job responsibilities both during new-hire onboarding and cross-training.Document and track individual learning progress along with status of cross-functional skills & knowledge for use by leadership with labor planning.Understand various learning styles, and with a keen eye on individual associates’ capabilities ensure each associate can learn and master the job functions to do their current role and learn other responsibilities for career growthCreate learning modules using teams, video, photos, screenshot and show pad technology to enable associates to learn various work tasks through various mediums.Create quarterly and onboarding exams to measure associate’s comprehension and retention of training material.Investigate all distribution related customer reported issues to determine associate accuracy rates to identify associate re-train opportunities. Including wrong parts shipped, incorrect quantity shipped and missed visual quality defects of products.Proactively maintain and update standard work instructions and specifications to align with company advancements within Omnex.Capacity to understand complex issues with the ability to translate into simple and easy to understand terms while communicating with associates and management.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience, or an advanced degree without experience, in administrative support, talent management, learning & development, data entry, and / or training coordination and procedure; or other equivalent combination of education and experience.A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in administration, distribution operations, or relevant experience.Previous experience with demonstrated competence with Epicor or complex ERP system required.Minimum 3 years’ experience with demonstrated hands-on experience required utilizing Microsoft Office skills : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Business Systems Applications.Must be able to travel between all distribution facilities located in MA and NH as needed.Must have flexibility to accommodate working alternate shifts to support training needs as required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and with a team to achieve defined goals.Positive attitude with an ability to absorb and learn quickly.Passionate about progress and willing to go the extra mile.Ability to drive for results with people from differing cultures, languages, and backgrounds.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, maintain a pleasant, professional attitude towards customers and co-workers.Excellent organization and attention to detail is critical.
