TechPride seeks detail-oriented and mission-driven Web Content Writer to support a high-visibility, large-scale federal website redesign project. This role will be hybrid with 3 days a week on site and will focus on content development and editorial oversight for several priority domains within the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) digital ecosystem.
You will be responsible for reviewing, creating, and refining content to meet federal plain language, accessibility, and user experience standards. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer with a strategic mindset, who is experienced in content governance and passionate about clarity, consistency, and accessibility.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead content creation and refinement.
- Conduct qualitative content assessments to evaluate relevance, accuracy, and tone.
- Define and maintain consistent voice and tone across all content areas.
- Prioritize key messages based on audience needs and organizational goals.
- Write, edit, and revise content with a focus on plain language and accessibility.
- Conduct fact‑checking and coordinate content approvals with SMEs and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Section 508, WCAG, and other federal standards.
- Apply metadata, tags, and taxonomy to support findability and user navigation.
- Prepare content for site staging and publication in the CMS (Drupal).
- Build and maintain a trusting relationship with the client.
- Understand the client’s priorities and provide creative ideas and strategic thought to support their mission.
- Coordinate scheduling, agendas, materials, participant lists and action items for multiple working groups and councils.
- Facilitate client meetings. Own all aspects of meeting coordination, keep meetings on‑time and on agenda and follow up on action items.
- Develop and maintain program organizational charts and stakeholder outreach matrices.
- Coordinate with USCG offices to produce multimedia products including but not limited to infographics and video.
- Coordinate, develop and track responses to requests for information from other government agencies.
