Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,614 per week in Denton, TX

The nurse will manage stroke patients, patients on cardiac drips, and those on continuous bipap. The nurse will care for post-procedure patients and perform tele monitoring. Patient-to-staff ratios are typically 4 : 1 but may flex to 5 : 1 during staffing shortages. The unit consists of 25 beds and has a staff of 54. Staffing includes charge RNs, staff RNs, and patient care technicians. Day shift typically consists of 1 charge RN, 6 staff RNs, and 3 PCTs. Night shift staffing is similar. Equipment utilized on the unit includes bipap machines, restraints, airvo, and monitoring devices. Candidates with preceptor or charge nurse experience are preferred. A compassionate team player who communicates well with an interdisciplinary team is ideal. Potential applicants should be individuals of integrity who are willing to help others. Typical procedures performed include emergent thoracentesis. Unit policies and guidelines will be provided upon orientation.
