Job description

Let's Be Friends!

At Ko-Kwel Casino Resort, there's nothing better than being around your friends, and that's exactly the atmosphere we want to create here. We want team members to feel like they're welcomed with the unique experiences and growth we can offer. Come be part of the special atmosphere and hospitality of the hotel, or the welcoming, fun and friendly character of the restaurants and casino. Join our team in its dedication to be the leading destination for gaming and hospitality on the beautiful, southern Oregon coast!

Why this job matters

Bring energy, personality, and exceptional service to Warehouse 101 and Whitecaps by crafting great drinks, creating memorable moments, and ensuring every guest feels welcome from the first pour to the last goodbye.

What you bring to the table

  • Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
  • Serve up signature cocktails, cold brews, and delicious bites while fostering a lively, welcoming bar and lounge atmosphere.
  • Confidently open and close the bar / lounge, ensuring everything runs smoothly and all side work is completed with care.
  • Prioritize guest safety by practicing responsible alcohol service and staying alert to guest awareness at all times while keeping communication open with teammates and supervisors.
  • Protect the trust of both guests and team members by upholding confidentiality at all times.
  • Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)

Physical stuff to know

We've included the typical physical parts of the job here. If you need an accommodation to do the work, just let us know-we're here to support you.

You'll need to be available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings when we are busy. During your shift, you'll be on your feet standing for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use your hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and be able to understand how to use equipment to safely maneuver a full keg of beer, carry cases of bottled beer with a hand truck, bend, twist, reach and otherwise be physically limber as duties necessitate. Occasionally sit. It's important to stay calm and make good decisions under pressure, especially when dealing with stressful situations or upset people. Just a heads-up-the casino environment may expose you to secondhand smoke.

This is a quick summary of the main duties and requirements-it might not cover everything you could be asked to do.

Must-haves, nice-to-haves, and maybe some bonus points

  • Friendly and approachable attitude that helps guests (and the team) feel welcome and cared for every day.
  • Experience helpful but not required. Previous experience in hospitality field with demonstrated excellent customer service ability.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have valid OLCC permit and working knowledge of OLCC regulations.
  • Must have a food handler's card and meet health, safety and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate the point of sale system and accurately manage a cash bank, credit card activity, and balance with corresponding paperwork at the end of your shift.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform your duties with a minimum of supervision and handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Comfortable communicating clearly and positively with both guests and teammates.
  • Must pass and remain in compliance with background and drug free work place policies.
  • Ko-Kwel Casino Resort is owned by the Coquille Indian Tribe. Team members are eligible for a comprehensive health care benefit, generous time off policy, 401-K retirement with 4% company match and other benefits.
