The Wayne County Area Agency on Aging is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accountant 1 to join our team! In this position, you will be responsible for the accounting activities that support the Combined Human Services fiscal team, specifically for cross program analysis and Area Agency on Aging (AAA) program. Your work will involve processing incoming deposits, reconciling revenue subsidiary schedules with general ledger accounts, and preparing adjustment vouchers to correct or close accounts maintained. You will provide assistance program Fiscal Officers on procedures, policies, and regulations to ensure agency records remain in compliance. Some of your duties will include utilizing accounting principles and procedures, assisting in revenue recognition and general ledger reconciliation for all Human Services programs, and assisting with audit schedules required for local and state audits. Additionally, you will assist with the preparation, analysis and submission of the Area Agency on Aging reports, including submission through state online system.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

Full-time employment

Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday.

You may have occasional overnight travel out of County for meetings or training. Occasionally, irregular hours, including evening and weekends may be required.

Telework : You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary : In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements :

One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting; or

One year as a Fiscal Technician, and fifteen college credits in accounting; or

Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting.

Other Requirements :

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements :

You must pass a background investigation.

A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.

Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
