We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This role requires expertise in processing payroll for both W-2 employees and 1099 contractors, ensuring accuracy and compliance across multiple systems. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and capable of managing payroll operations for a large workforce efficiently.
Responsibilities :
- Process payroll for approximately 900 W-2 employees on a semi-monthly schedule using Paycor.
- Manage payroll for 230 contractors, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
- Collaborate with external vendors to handle Canadian payroll transactions.
- Utilize Excel to prepare and load payroll files, ensuring data accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with multi-state payroll regulations and requirements.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Train on and adapt to different payroll systems as needed.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all payroll processes.
- Support the team during transitions and provide reliable coverage during absences.
- Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing, including both W-2 and 1099 contractors.
- Familiarity with multi-state payroll operations and regulations.
- Proficiency in using Paycor or similar payroll systems.
- Basic Excel skills, including the ability to load and manage payroll files.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling payroll data.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with external vendors and internal teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address payroll discrepancies.
- Previous experience managing payroll for large organizations with over 500 employees.
