Loads and unloads trucks and flatbed trailers, assists in crane picks and repositions cargo units to facilitate loading and unloading.

Organizes the yard based on the yard layout plan.

Ensures all safety precautions are taken to perform forklift operations by observing rigging prior to all lifts and notifying Yard Supervisor of any concerns.

Must know and use hand signals and how to capture NORM readings.

Performs frequent inspections and preventive maintenance on yard equipment as needed.

Perform chemical pad and container inspections. Initiates spill response in the event of a spill or drill.

Requires HAZWOPER 8-hour training and certification, first-aid, CPR & AED training certifications and must know hand signals, California Hazardous Waste Management Certification.

Must be competent in the following activities :

• Safe forklift operations
• Cycle counting of outside inventory
• Handling of hazardous waste between the offshore platform and the disposal site
• Inspections of chemical pads and containers, including tracking activities
• Capturing NORM-certifications / readings for scrap containers before leaving the yard
• Loading pipe on trailers
