Operating Room Team Member

Key Responsibilities :

An Operating Room Technician (ORT) plays a vital role in the surgical team, serving as a primary scrub person. The individual must be technically adept in handling instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary before, during, and after surgical procedures. ORTs are required to perform all cases that surgeons conduct. They may also circulate under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Essential Qualifications and Skills :

High school graduate or equivalent

Graduate of a surgical technology program

CST certification required

Meets requirements of pre-employment screening and physical

Excellent attendance record

Able to take call as scheduled

Self-motivated and technically adept

Able to handle high stress levels

Ability to stand for prolonged periods

BLS Certified or obtain within six months

Knowledge of technical OR equipment and / or Anatomy & Physiology
