Trinity Metro has an immediate opening for a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor within the Fleet shops. The incumbent supervises and coordinates workers in maintaining and repairing transit mechanical vehicles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Receives service requests and assigns work to mechanical maintenance staff and service attendants based on work priorities and skill levels of subordinates.
- Assists and advises mechanics and service attendants on maintenance and repair duties. Provides on-the-job training, as needed. Inspects work upon completion to ensure quality control. Counsels employees on improving work performance.
- Monitors the shop to ensure that safety precautions are followed by mechanics and other shop personnel.
- Monitors the issue of repair parts and supplies.
- Uses a computer to type memos and maintain accurate records of completed work orders, repair orders, parts inventory, inspection documents, etc.
- Remains available to work on a rotating 24-hour "on-call" schedule.
- Work closely with quality assurance and maintenance training to ensure repairs are performed properly; work closely with dispatch and operations to ensure timely completion of work.
EXPERIENCE :
Four years (4) of progressively responsible experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, including heavy-duty and Automotive vehicles such as trucks, vans, and buses. Two of the four years must have been as a Specialist or at the Journey level, or higher, preferably in the transit industry.
