We are seeking an experienced Hematology / Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 13-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity starts Jan 2, 2026, with orientation followed by clinical work beginning Jan 5, 2026, and features day shifts scheduled Monday through Friday. The assignment focuses on inpatient neuro-oncology care, providing an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong skills in chemotherapy and biotherapy administration and lumbar puncture procedures. Job Details Location : New York Start Date : Jan 2, 2026 LOA : 13 days Provider Type Needed : Hematology / Oncology Nurse Practitioner Schedule : Monday-Friday, 07 : 00-19 : 30 (13 shifts per month) Responsibilities and Duties Provide inpatient neuro-oncology care, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy, including prescribing and monitoring treatment Perform lumbar punctures with or without chemotherapy Conduct history and physical exams, including pelvic exams as indicated Order and interpret diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions within specialty and documented experience Perform arterial puncture and blood gas sampling Manage superficial wounds and conduct minor superficial surgical procedures Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes Complete death certificate protocols and remove central venous catheters as needed Assess eligibility for thrombolytic therapy and perform intravenous thrombolytic therapy for stroke in collaboration with the stroke team Perform EEG interpretation as required Promote patient health, provide health counseling, and manage patient conditions within the designated age group and area of specialty practice Additional Information Must hold active New York NP licensure and appropriate certifications : Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), or Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) Required certifications : Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Must demonstrate recent experience in chemotherapy / biotherapy administration and lumbar puncture procedures as outlined in the assignment criteria Candidates must qualify for and be granted core privileges as a Nurse Practitioner according to state and facility guidelines Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
