Registered Nurse – Wound & Ostomy Care

📍 Location : Brooklyn, NY 11203

🕒 Shift : 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM | 8-hour shifts | 5 days / week

📅 Duration : 13 Weeks

Job Summary :

We’re seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Wound and Ostomy Care for a 13-week contract in Brooklyn, NY. The RN will conduct focused health assessments, develop individualized care plans, and provide evidence-based treatment for patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence issues. This role collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and education.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform comprehensive wound, ostomy, and continence assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Recommend appropriate medications, dressings, and treatments.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document patient progress and treatment effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and refer to other services as needed.
  • Provide patient, family, and staff education on wound prevention and management.
  • Participate in hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives and data collection.
  • Develop and deliver staff education programs and in-service training.
  • Maintain confidentiality, adhere to patient rights, and ensure compliance with hospital standards.
  • Manage and track specialized wound care equipment and supplies.

    • Required Skills & Experience :

  • Minimum 2 years of Med / Surg experience.
  • Wound and Colostomy care experience required.

    • Required Education :

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN, ADN) from an accredited program.

    • Required Certifications & Licensure :

  • Active New York State RN License.
  • Primary Source Verification from NYSED.
  • AHA BLS Certification.
  • Current certification in one of the following :

    • Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) – WOCNCB

  • Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) – WOCNCB
  • Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) – WOCNCB
  • Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) – ABWM
  • Wound Care Certified (WCC) – NAWCO
