Interim Director Of Strategy Analysis And Accreditation

The Interim Director of Strategy Analysis and Accreditation reports to the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Institutional Effectiveness and leads SLCC's efforts to ensure institutional accreditation, assess mission fulfillment, and align operational planning efforts with collegewide strategic initiatives. This position manages internal research and research compliance processes (including IRB) and plays a central role in connecting evidence with action, ensuring that institutional metrics, dashboards, and assessment activities reinforce SLCC's mission and strategic priorities. The Interim Director is a collaborative leader who works across divisions to advance institutional learning, promote data-informed decision-making, and support the successful implementation of strategic and operational efficiency initiatives and priorities. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, an understanding of accreditation and operational effectiveness, and the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights. This is an interim position with an anticipated start date of 10 / 16 / 2025 and end date of 12 / 31 / 2025.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Serve as the college's lead coordinator for NWCCU accreditation, including reporting, documentation, and site visit preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and accreditation-related policies.
  • Lead communication, training, and engagement around accreditation standards and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain alignment of internal practices and institutional evidence with NWCCU standards.
  • Supervise and guide staff supporting accreditation and compliance functions.

Strategic Initiative Alignment & Operational Planning (20%)

  • Align departmental and division-level operational planning efforts with SLCC's institutional strategic initiatives.
  • Provide support and consultation to departments on operational plan development and reporting.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to assess implementation progress, identify barriers, and elevate institutional learning.
  • Maintain consistency across planning tools, templates, and institutional documentation.
  • Assign and monitor team responsibilities for operational planning and strategy implementation.
  • Mission Fulfillment & Institutional Assessment (20%)

  • Lead the tracking and interpretation of institutional-level metrics used to assess progress toward mission fulfillment.
  • Coordinate development of annual effectiveness reports and events such as SLCC360.
  • Promote the use of data to support reflection, decision-making, and continuous improvement across the institution.
  • Direct staff in collecting, analyzing, and presenting effectiveness data, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Institutional Research & IRB Oversight (15%)

  • Manage internal surveys and research activities that support institutional learning and student success.
  • Oversee the Institutional Review Board (IRB), ensuring compliance with human subject research protocols.
  • Provide consultative support to departments and committees conducting internal research or evaluation.
  • Supervise staff engaged in research, surveys, and IRB processes, mentoring them in best practices.
  • Decision Support & Data Engagement (10%)

  • Collaborate with the Data Science & Analytics (DSA) team to improve access to and utility of dashboards and decision-support tools.
  • Support outreach, training, and capacity-building activities to foster adoption and use of institutional data tools and metrics.
  • Coordinate staff contributions to decision-support projects, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Expertise in institutional accreditation and effectiveness, including NWCCU standards, assessment practices, and federal compliance.
  • Experience aligning operational efforts with high-level institutional strategies and initiatives (e.g., Vision Matrix, performance funding goals).
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret institutional metrics and synthesize information for planning and evaluation.
  • Effective facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and present findings to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in decision-support tools and dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for institutional research and reporting.
  • Ability to support and build institutional data literacy through training, tools, and collaborative engagement.
  • Minimum qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible experience in institutional effectiveness, research, assessment, or related fields in higher education.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

    Experience with NWCCU accreditation processes.
