THE POSITION

The State Employees' Retirement System (SERS) is seeking an experienced professional to join our business analyst team. This Business Analyst 2 position identifies opportunities for process improvements and works to enact recommendations to promote increased efficiency within business systems. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This Business Analyst 2 position is a critical member of the SERS Bureau of Information Technology (BIT), which provides a variety of support functions to business areas. The business analyst team works to improve process functions; interpret legislative changes as they relate to internal benefits systems; facilitate business requirement gathering sessions; liaise with developers to ensure such requirements are developed and implemented; develop and execute test scripts; and triage Help Desk issues to determine next steps. This position works in conjunction with higher-level business analysts to provide superb customer service to SERS business areas while maintaining high levels of productivity.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week, Monday through Friday.
  • Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework : You may have the opportunity to work from home part-time (hybrid telework schedule), depending on operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you must work on-site at the work location specified in this job posting. Telework arrangements are subject to change. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements :

  • One year as a Business Analyst 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year as an Information Technology Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of business process analysis experience and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Five years of business process analysis experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
